Comics galore!
The children have been learning how to create their very own comics with Mrs Fothergill. Room 8 certainly has some very creative and artistic minds! Ka pai!
Come Holy Spirit
We have been learning about the Power of the Holy Spirit and how it is an advocate, a friend, a helper, which guides us and directs us in all we do. We each wrote a special prayer, thanking The Holy Spirit for being with us always.
Anzac letters
This term we have learnt about the importance of Anzac Day and have been able to use our senses and our imaginations to write letters (as if we were soldiers), to our families using our prior knowledge about this very historic day.

Happy hour
We are all learning to self manage ourselves... this means that we have self control over how we act and react towards others. We can manage our behaviour in class, as well as being able to show responsibility and take ownership over our learning.
Room 8 children are continuously working hard at trying to self manage and for this reason, they have 'earned' their happy hour! Ka pai tamariki!
Some of the children put on a ' music show' called 'Ting ting'.

Sharing special items for Anzac day
Paige brought in a special box of medals which her great grandfather received during the First World War. Her nana Kaylene was kind enough to allow Paige to share the medals with us, as well as letters which her family had received from great grand dad during the war.
William brought in a special hat which his great grand dad wore during the war.
Kieran shared a special Anzac commemorative coin which he received from his grandparents.
Commemorating Anzac Day
In room 8, we have been learning about Anzac day. We remember all those who sacrificed their lives and we also salute their families. At school we had a special Anzac liturgy, in which crosses were erected to remember the fallen soldiers.
